To All Fellow Cigar Smokers:

The Seoul Cigar Aficionado Society (SCAS) invites you to attend a Cigar Gathering BBQ on Saturday, September 12, 2009, starting at 7:00 PM at The Hive in Kangnam. It’s a chance to gather, relax, and have a cigar or two with fellow cigar enthusiasts.

WHO: To all those that enjoy cigars in good company. Please feel free to tell your friends and colleagues about the gathering.

WHEN: September 12, 2009, starting at 7:00 PM.

WHERE: The Hive is located in Kangnam, next to Big Rock. (The green subway station on the map is Kangnam station on line 2 for those who don’t read Korean.) Or use the Big Rock map attached to this email–The Hive is right above Big Rock. If you can’t find it, ask the nice folks at Big Rock or simply call The Hive at 02.501.6235 for detailed directions or questions. As this establishment is a bar, we strongly suggest that you have a designated driver or ride a public transport.

FOOD:

* Hamburgers, hotdogs, brats (will be BBQed on the grill, standard condiments provided)
* Salad (vegetable) with salad dressing
* Spicy chicken wings and assorted fried potatoes
* Watermelon wedges

Note:
- Each person will get 1 hamburger and 1 hotdog (additional ham/hdg can be purchased)
- Salad, spicy chicken wings, fried potatoes, and watermelon will be set up buffet style

Cost: Around 20,000 KRW (not including drinks).

BEVERAGES:

* Beer: Asahi draft (7,000) / Bottled domestic (4,000) / Bottled imported (7,000)

* Whiskey & Bourbon (per shot serving): Maker’s Mark (6,000) / Johnnie Walker 12Y (7,000) / Jameson 12Y (7,000) / Glenfiddich 12Y (8,000) / Macallen 18Y (13,000)

* Mixed cocktails: Gin & tonic (6,000) / Jack & coke (6,000) / Cranberry & vodka (6,000) / Mojito (10,000)

Note:
- Courtesy of The Hive, all the drinks above have been discounted from our regular menu price.
- Any other drinks will be sold at their regular menu price.
- Special may be had when purchasing a bottle of whiskey.
- You can choose one 12Y from Johnnie Walker 12Y/Jameson 12Y/ Glenfiddich 12Y.

You are welcome to bring your own cigars to this event. SCAS will have some cigars available as well for those of you who would like to try something different.

ATTIRE: Casual.

The event went very well. The weather held up and we were able to enjoy a good BBQ and good cigars. BTW, I found that The Hive makes a pretty good Mojito.
